In an effort to increase the depth and meaningfulness of its professional development, the Oregon Reading Association has replaced its annual conference with two 2-day intensive institutes, one in February and another in the summer.

Presenters include principals, teachers, and school district representatives from throughout Oregon talking about the skills and experiences they are looking for in new teachers. The keynote speaker at both locations is Brad Kuntz, ASCD Outstanding Young Educator from Gladstone High School.
